Hello!

Hi! My name is Marisa, currently I am a graduate student at Southern Connecticut State University and am halfway through towards completing a Masters degree in Library and Information Science. Though I am not currently a librarian, I feel I have a unique perspective towards the field of library science because I work for Barnes & Noble Booksellers. I am the Children’s Department Manager (I love to read any and all young adult and children’s literature); I have worked there for nearly three years. My first experience came from working as an undergraduate student at the Homer Babbidge Library while I attended the University of Connecticut.

I am fairly comfortable with technology, though I realize that the knowledge and information is ever expanding. I am most familiar with social networks like Facebook, Wikipedia, and the many applications of Google (GMail, YouTube, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Maps). I’m no expert but I look forward to learning more, and sharing what I find along the way.
